In 2004, the Weaver Ambassador program was created to replace the student council. All fourth and fifth grade students are invited to participate but must complete an application and provide a letter of recommendation.
PURPOSE
The Weaver Ambassador program empowers students by providing them with the opportunity to develop leadership, communication skills, teambuilding and human relations. Guest speakers from the community are also invited to share their experiences and wisdom.
MISSION
The leadership club is designed to:
Feature and plan activities that support and motivate Weaver students in their daily actions in the form of Spirit Days, attendance encouragement, and character development in accord with the code of ethics and behavior set by our teachers and community leaders, by serving as examples for others.
Focus on helping all students, staff, and community members to realize the full potential of
Build the use of effective communication and conflict resolution language and to guide students in taking responsibility for their own actions.
Assist in the day-to-day affairs of
Build relationships with fellow students, teachers, staff & administrators. Be welcoming with new students and families, and to encourage inclusion, cultural understanding & an appreciation of diversity.
VOLUNTEERS
* 6 volunteers to assist with the Big Red Bucket Community Service Project to monitor classrooms
* 9 volunteers to assist with monitoring the Ambassador's Community Service jobs throughout campus
* Anyone with knowledge & skills related to leadership development & human relations to serve as a co-facilitator or guest speakers
* Anyone that would like to assist with the Administrative duties such as attendance, clerical, etc.
DONATIONS NEEDED
Donated supplies would always be welcomed. We could also use any monetary donations or sponsorships to take more students to the CCEJ Breakfast in Feb. The cost is $350 per table of 10.
