HAT IS RED RIBBON WEEK?
It is an ideal way for people and communities to unite and take a visible stand against substance abuse. Show your personal commitment to a drug-free lifestyle through the symbol of the Red Ribbon, Oct 24 - 28th.
Red Ribbon Week is not a "prevention" or "early intervention" program. It is an awareness campaign observed annually the last full week in October.
Monday, October 24th: Rally in Red Day- Dress in Red Wednesday, October 26th: Don’t Let Drugs Sneak Up on You Day- Wear sneakers/tennis shoes (if students have red converse….even better!) Thursday, October 27th: Sock it to Drugs Day - Wear your wackiest socks Friday, October 28th: Turn your Back on Drugs Day - Wear your Weaver-Wear backwards On Friday October 28th, we would like to invite ALL Weaver parents in law enforcement to come in uniform at 7:45am for our flag ceremony as a special "wrap up" to Red Ribbon Week. If you are able to participate or have questions, please contact Joe Levy at josef.levy@longbeach.gov.
We regard Red Ribbon Week as the kick off to a year of prevention in our schools and in our communities. The best Red Ribbon Week efforts highlight and support continuing prevention, early intervention and treatment programs and services occurring on and off campus throughout the year.
Have Your Child Dress to Support Red Ribbon Week - Campaign Against Drugs
