Yearbook

Our "How Sweet It Is" Yearbook from 2010 won the Lifetouch National Showcase contest. We placed second in the "Best of the Best" category for all elementary schools in the country! We will also have our sales kickoff for this year's book at that time, so don't miss it!

UPDATE....We are excited to announce that the theme for our 2011 yearbook is...(soon to be announced!).  Sales will begin in early February. Forms will be available on-line and in the office. We will also be sending home an order flyer from Lifetouch to each student. So be on the lookout for those. We will also have sales tables set up every Friday before and after flag ceremony.  You will be able to view last year's book, pick up forms for the ads and also make your purchases. Once again you will have the choice between hard cover or soft cover books. Last year the hardcover books were the popular choice and we sold twice as many hard cover books vs. soft cover. Prices will remain the same as last year. Hard covers will be $35.

Again, we will be accepting personal ads for your child and/or teacher and friends (no business ads). Like last year, they will be $5 each with a maximum of 2 per family. Ad space is limited so they will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. This year there are TWO separate forms for the ads and yearbook orders. If you wish to pay for them together, with one check please attach both forms together. Otherwise, they may be submitted separately with individual payments. All ads must be horizontal only. We will also create your ad for you! This was very popular last year! Just write what you would like your ad to say and we will put together a colorful ad for you. You can see lots of examples in last year's book. If you prefer to create your own custom ad please use the forms in the office which include complete details and a blank business card for you to create your ad on. Upon receipt of your artwork we will scan and upload your finished ad to process into the yearbook. Please note that ads appear exactly as you submit them. You may also submit your ad via e-mail to Cindy Millsaps/Jennifer Riddle or burn it to a disk and turn it into the office. It needs to be 300-400 dpi and formatted to business card size 2.5 x 3.0 inches. Please be sure to include your child's name, teacher, grade, and room number. If you're new to Weaver or didn't see last year's book, please stop by the library and take a look at some of our award-winning books from the past. All previous books are available for viewing in the media center. You'll be surprised at all the detail and hard work our yearbook staff puts into this unique and special Weaver keepsake. In the past we have won several awards from our publisher, Lifetouch, including 1st place in the Best of the Best Yearbook category among over 10,000 entries in 2008.

We have staff photographers who will be snapping away, but if you have a really great shot you would like to share, please burn on a disk and put in the yearbook box in the main office. We are also interested in other ongoing events at Weaver including Ambassadors, Flag Ceremony, Reading Incentive, Meet the Masters, Choir, and classroom candids in or outside. Photos need to be taken digitally and using the highest setting if possible. If you have any great shots to share simply burn them on a disk, label the event and leave in the front office in the yearbook box.
