Weaver Carnival FAQs

Why should I attend Carnival?  Because it is going to be SO. MUCH. FUN!   Attending Carnival and purchasing tickets helps Weaver raise funds for many PTA-supported programs, but more importantly, it is a great opportunity for you to meet other Weaver parents and for your child(ren) to have a blast with their friends.  Carnival is just a really fun day to celebrate being a Weaver Whale!

Can I bring my friends and relatives to Carnival? Absolutely! Carnival is for everyone and we want to share the fun! We not only encourage you to bring others but hope they will experience all that carnival has to offer. From games to entertainment to raffle prizes, there’s something for everyone! We welcome the entire community. 

Why do I need to buy Carnival General Tickets? While the Carnival Wristband covers all the inflatables and game booths, you will need tickets for purchasing snacks and sweet treats; and specialty booths. You can also use tickets for funky chalk hairstyles or try your luck at the Cake Walk!

How many general tickets do I need? This depends on how long you plan to stay, how many activities you want to participate in, and how much you plan to eat. However, items range from 1-5 tickets each.

Why should I buy general tickets/wristbands in advance?  It will save time on the day of Carnival, as you won’t need to stand in line to pick up wristbands, etc. Your child(ren) can get right into the business of having a good time. Single wristband price also goes up to $45.00 on day of carnival.

Will there be food at Carnival?  Vendors will offer main entrees such as pizza, hot dogs, tacos, etc, and will set their own prices.  All food purchases from these vendors must be made with cash or a credit card.

I heard there are also raffle tickets. Do I need these too? If you want to participate in the raffles then you need raffle tickets. These are different from Carnival Food and Activity tickets. Raffle tickets are for our “Time With Teacher” (TWT) drawings or the Classroom Curated Raffle drawings.

• Time with Teacher: Weaver teachers and staff participate in “Time With Teacher” by donating their time and joining two winning students for a fun activity (typically off-campus). There are 2 ways to win: you may use raffle tickets to enter the ‘TWT’ Raffle (Your child must be a current student to enter that teacher’s TWT raffle), OR you may place a silent bid in a sealed envelope. One raffle winner and one silent bid winner will win each TWT opportunity. TWT details and available opportunities will be sent home on a separate flyer – coming soon!
  
  
• Classroom Curated Raffle Basket: Many fabulous items will be available and there is sure to be something for everyone. Use your raffle tickets to enter drawings for the items you like best. It’s a fun way to support the school and to try your luck at winning a great prize. Friends, relatives, and co-workers are also eligible to buy raffle tickets AND they don’t need to be present to win!

Do I need to buy a Carnival Tee Shirt? Carnival shirts are absolutely optional, but they are SOOO COOL! It is a great way to show your Weaver spirit.

I heard that you need parents to volunteer. What can I do? We need volunteers to work the classroom booth and many other areas of Carnival. You can donate sweet treats to the bake sale, support our auction, and assist with Carnival day set up & tear down. It’s a big day that is entirely volunteer run and we need all the help we can get! A volunteer sign up will be sent out closer to the event!
